Me: At rock bottom. I was at my heaviest. I physically hurt. I had no energy to play with my son. I wouldn’t go out with my family or friends.  I felt out of control and didn’t see a way out of this crazy place I had taken myself.

I didn’t know what to do. And to be honest, I don’t think I really had a desire to do anything. A friend encouraged me to call Allison just to talk about where I was at. I did. I chose to be vulnerable and put my truths in front of her and myself.

Allison: Listened. And she heard me. She understood that this wasn’t just a weight issue. This was a whole-life issue. I didn’t simply need to work out twice a week. She knew we had to figure out why I had let myself go and why I made the lifestyle and dietary choices I did. After we spent time sorting through everything Allison put a food, exercise and habit plan together for me. It was totally tailored to my schedule and what I was physically capable of doing. At the beginning she made my work out plan manageable – I didn’t feel overwhelmed. She helped me see that I needed to take my new lifestyle one day at a time. It felt SO good to take one day, start it off with good food choices, pace myself with portions, and get a good work out in. At the end of that day, I looked back on those 12 hours and I realized I kicked butt! Physically, I felt energized and mentally, I felt in charge. Little by little Allison knew what she could do to tweak things either with our work outs or my dietary choices that would challenge me and take me to the next level.

Allison is in this WITH me. She GOT me and believed in me when I had given up on myself. That is what I love about her.  I’m in charge of my life again. That feels wonderful.
